Frequently Asked Questions
Upholstery cleaning is the process of cleaning the fabric of your sofa and all types of chair using a special solution that is designed for upholstery fabrics, in combination with an upholstery machine that soaks and vacuums the water and cleaning solutions.
There are two main types of upholstery cleaning: steam cleaning and water extraction. Steam cleaning uses hot steam to loosen dirt and other debris from the fabric. Water extraction uses water and suction to remove dirt and other debris from the fabric.
Upholstery cleaning can remove dust, dirt, pet dander, and other allergens from your furniture. It can also remove stains and odors. Cleaning regularly can help extend the lifespan of your furniture and reduced your exposure to allergens.
The frequency of upholstery cleaning depends on the amount of use your furniture gets and the level of dirt and allergens in your home. Ideally, upholstery cleaning should be kept to a minimum but a light overall cleaning every year or so for less commonly used pieces goes a long way to preventing premature replacement. For more regularly used upholstery, you should plan on cleaning it at least annually to maintain the aesthetic well-being of your furniture investment. If you have pets, allergies and asthma, you may need to have your upholstery cleaned more on a semi-annually or quarterly basis. Note that it is not uncommon to clean breakfast nooks, dining chairs and the like on a quarterly or semi-annual basis as well.
It usually takes 30-45 mins. from the preparation until end of cleaning and drying time is 2-3 hours depending on the material and air ventilation on the room. But we usually bring an air blower (for no additional cost!) to help lessen the drying time.
We always like to err on the side of caution and say safe drying expectation is 3-4 hours. Could it be less? Yes. Could it be more? Yes (although rarely). Furthermore, good air ventilation in the room will decrease drying time.
Often yes, but time is of the essence. The longer a stain resides on upholstery the less likely the chance for 100% removal.
We move all readily moveable furniture, lamps and objects. We do not move semi-permanent or permanent furniture, or items exceptionally large, heavy, fragile or valuable.
Upholstery deep cleaning and shampooing as a multiple-step process through dry vacuuming, wet extraction and brushing, followed by rinsing with fresh water. Extraction of deep-seated dust, dirt, and dust mites within the fibers. Removal of spots and stains as much as possible without harming the materials. In addition, we also do sanitation through steaming (temperature up to 170 ℃) of upholstered materials to eliminate any odors and kill 99.99% of bed bugs, bacteria, viruses, and other germs. This process also minimizes the exposure to allergens.
